Request – Finland x Reader – House of Horrors

"Universal Studios! Universal Studios!" Matthias chanted. Lukas tugged on his tie as everyone else laughed.

"You don't need to shout…"

Tino, your best friend, had invited you to go with him and his family to Universal Studios Hollywood. You hadn't been there since you were really little, so you were very excited. The small bag your mother had lent you was loaded with money for food and souvenirs, your phone, and your camera. It swung on your shoulder as you linked arms with Tino.

"Wait! Guys! I remember this statue! Watch it for a minute," you said.

The huge gold filming crew statue just inside the gates to the main park was fun to look at. It was surrounded by a fountain that shot jets of water into the air. You were focused on the man in the director's chair. When he got up and started walking like a robot into the park, you grinned. The others were amazed.

"That's so cool!" Tino said.

"W's it 'n an'm'tron?" Berwald asked.

You shook your head. "Nope. It was a worker dressed up and painted gold like a statue. I wonder what's changed since I was last here…"

Emil was reading the park map. He pointed out a few things to Lukas, who nodded. "We should ride The Mummy and Jurassic Park. The studio tour sounds like fun as well," he said.

You nodded. "I want to try the new Transformers ride too. It's supposed to be a lot of fun!"

The group began to head further into the park. A large dungeon style building came into view, with huge chains lining the bridge. It said "House of Horrors" above the door.

"Hey, (f/n), did you go in there?" Matthias asked, pointing at the House of Horrors. You looked up at it.

"Hmm… Nope. I was a little kid. You aren't even allowed in unless you're at least twelve. Plus I was a lot easier to scare back then," you said.

"Well then let's go!" Matthias began dragging Lukas towards the door. You shrugged and began to follow them.

The inside area where you waited to be told to walk through was full of posters and props from horror movies. You thought it was really interesting, especially the monster suits that were for display in glass cases.

"Um, I'm not so sure this is a good idea…" Tino began. His arm tightened around yours a little.

"It can't be that bad. Plus I'm here for you. We'll be fine, Tino!" you said with a smile. He returned it, but his was a bit shakier.

"You look like an owl, (f/n)," Lukas said.

"Who, me?" you asked.

Matthias laughed. You had been turning your head in every direction you could, trying to see as many of the posters as possible. Your eyes had been wide and staring.

"What?"

"He called you an owl, and then you said 'who'!" Matthias said between gales of laughter.

"Oh, I get it. You're laughing at me. Well, I won't kill you this time, Matthias! We're here for fun!" you said. Wow, yandere much?

You continued to look around at all of the horror movie posters. In a side room was a wall dedicated to Frankenstein. It all looked so cool!

Then you noticed the poster featuring (scariest movie monster). You tensed up and took a tiny step backwards. Was there going to be people dressed up as that inside? No thank you! Nope. No way.

"(f/n)? Are you okay? Did something scare you?" Tino asked. He had noticed you tense up.

"ME? SCARED? WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? WHO SAYS I'M SCARED? NOPE! NOT ME! I'M NOT SCARED AT ALL! AHA HA HA! NOPE, NOT SCARED AT ALL! I'M NOT HYSTERICAL! PFFT! NOTHING'S SCARED ME, NOT AT ALL! AHA HA HA HA! WHO SAYS I'M BEING PARANOID, I'M NOT PARANOID! AND I'M NOT SCARED!" you said, a bit loud. It was finished off with nervous titters of laughter. You were still staring at the poster, and you had begun to shake.

"No one said anything about you being paranoid or hysterical," Lukas pointed out.

"Are you sure, (f/n)? We don't have to do this," Tino said.

Emil put a hand on your shoulder. "You're shaking. Maybe we shouldn't."

"Aw, is wittle baby (f/n) scared?" Matthias taunted. Lukas yanked on his tie again.

"Psh, no way! I'm not scared! Let's go! Let's do this!" you said. Right as you said that, they allowed you inside. You grabbed Tino's hand and twined your fingers with his.

The others were all looking around with wide eyes. You were glancing back and from side to side, afraid to look but not wanting to be jumped out at by (scariest movie monster). A few steps in, something directly behind you jumped out, shrieking. You and Tino screamed bloody murder, and you jumped behind Tino. He clamped onto Berwald's arm, and you had your arms around your shoulders. Your nails were digging into his skin, but neither of you cared.

"Oh, this is scary," Emil said. He seemed to understand now.

"You think?" you and Tino asked in unison.

The group began to walk faster. You buried your face in Tino's back, hoping you could distract yourself. Something else jumped out now, making a snarling and growling sound. Again you screamed, believing it to be the Lady in Red, and this time you began to make a lot of noise in hopes you couldn't hear any more.

"LA LA LA LA LA LA LA! I CAN'T HEAR YOU! I CAN'T HEAR YOU! I CAN'T HEAR YOU I CAN'T SEE YOU NOTHING'S HERE SO I'M NOT SCARED! LA LA LA LA LA LA LA!" you cried. You began to hyperventilate, and your voice grew thicker.

Something new jumped out right as you dared to take a peek. It scared you half to death. You screamed as loud as you could, and the tears were flowing now. You were tripping over Tino's feet and your own, but you still kept going.

"Oh shit, (scariest movie monster) (is/are) following us!" Matthias said.

Screaming and crying in true hysterics, you pushed to go faster. "Don't say that! Please! Don't say that! Where's the exit? Please! Don't say that!" you screamed. The back of Tino's shirt would be soaked when you got out, but at the moment nothing mattered but getting out.

Each time you heard something jump out or heard the others scream, you screamed the loudest out of terror. Finally you could see a bright light through your eyelids. The entire walk through had been extremely dark, with the only light coming from colored lights in displays and the occasional flashlight from the workers.

You stumbled out the exit, tears cascading down your face. Your skin was paler than before, to the point where you looked like a ghost of your former self. The cobblestone street in this part of the park made you trip and fall. You just sat there and buried your face in your hands, and you continued to cry. Tino crouched next to you, and he was trying his best to comfort you.

"(f-f/n), it's all right. We're out. Nothing can hurt you now. Everything is fine," he said. The others finally noticed and gathered around you.

"What was it that scared you?" Emil asked.

"W's it th' st'ff on th' walls?" Berwald asked. You shook your head, face still hidden away.

"What was it, then?" Tino asked.

You looked up at them. You probably looked like a mess. Your shoulders were shaking with each sob. Slowly you raised a shaking hand to point at Matthias.

"H- He said that (scariest movie monster) (was/were) following us," you said between hiccups and sobs.

Tino pulled you into a hug, and he stroked the back of your head. Berwald, Emil, and Lukas rounded on Matthias. They were shouting at him and looked ready to strangle him.

"You know that (f/n) is afraid of that! You shouldn't have said that at all, much less in there!" Emil said as Lukas caught Matthias' tie again.

"G- Guys, it's okay. I- I'm fine," you said. Tino helped you stand up. You had stopped crying, but the hiccups were still there. "Let's just go find a snack stand or something."

Once you found a snack stand, you got a churro to munch on. Matthias paid for it as an apology. The others weren't hungry yet, but Lukas got a water bottle. On the way to find more rides, there were props from movies set up on the streets – motor vehicles to be specific. In front of the double decker bus, you pulled out your camera.

After you got a shot of the bus alone, Tino pulled the camera out of your hands and asked a passing worker to take a group photo. The worker obliged, and they snapped a shot of the whole group standing in front of the back entrance to the bus.

When the camera was returned to you, you looked at the shot. It was a nice photo, but your eyes were red and the churro was in your mouth. You looked surprised. Finally something made you smile: your own astonished face in the photo. A collective sigh seemed to come from the group at the sight of your smile.

"Come on, (f/n)! Let's go find more stuff to take pictures of!" Tino said, grabbing your hand. You nodded as you put the camera away, allowing yourself to be pulled towards the lower lot.

"Thank you, Tino. You're the best friend anyone could ask for. And I'm sorry for screaming in your ear while we were in there," you said as you rode down the escalators. Your hand tightened around his while you showed him a weak smile.

"You're welcome. You don't have to apologize, though. I understand that you were scared. Don't worry about it," he replied. He smiled back at you.

You leaned your head on Tino's shoulder, having been slightly exhausted from the experience. Hopefully riding different rides would distract you and get you as excited as you had been upon arriving.

"(f/n) and Tino, sitting in a tree! K-I-S-S- Gack!" Matthias said. This time it was you yanking on his tie.

Both you and Tino were bright red. You were from both embarrassment and anger, but Tino was from pure embarrassment alone. Lukas laughed a little when he saw you yanking on Matthias' tie.

"You've caused more than enough trouble, Matthias. So leave Tino and me alone," you said.

Matthias nodded, and you let go of his tie. You leaned on Tino again, hoping that not only would the ride distract you from what had happened, but Matthias from causing more trouble as well.
This is a request for :icongydachariad:

And this is why I love Finland. He's sweet, adorable, and can still kick butt even though he's small compared to the others~

This is loosely based off of what happened while I was at Universal Studios with :iconpandaacake: during the summer. I've been there before, but it changed quite a bit since I was last there. I had to have been maybe seven or eight. Then we went in the House of Horrors, I saw a zombie poster, and it all went downhill from there. And then her dad went and said "Oh shit! Zombies are chasing us! Hurr hurr hurr!"

I don't know about you guys, but being scared makes me hungry.

Oh yes, and one note: When it comes to the part when Matthias says what her dad said, I put (is/are) in case you're scared of something that should be plural, like me.
